The 300 SL was presented at the “International Motor Sports Show” in New York from 6 to 14 February 1954. Mercedes-Benz got very positive responses to the 300 SL at the Motor Show so the series production already started in August 1954 at the Sindelfingen plant. From 1957 to 1963 a total number of 1.858 exemplars of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster were built. The vehicle presented here was delivered to Moers on 26.06.1959 via the Mercedes agency in Duisburg and later sold to America. In 1994, the car returned from Canada to Germany in an excellent original condition. Between 2005 and 2007, the then owner had the 300 SL Roadster extensively restored according to available invoices. The subsequent ownership history is well documented. The vehicle is in a very beautiful condition. Engine Inline 6-cylinder, mechanical Bosch fuel injection, 2.975 cc, 215 hp (factory data)
