Description

The only Sebring delivered new in Giallo

Full body restoration by marque experts

One of just 247 Series II Sebrings constructed

European registration

THE MASERATI SEBRING Conceived principally with the lucrative American market in mind, Maserati’s new-for-1962 Sebring model was appropriately named in honour of the works team’s victory in the famous Floridian 12 Hour race some five years earlier, courtesy of the mighty 450S of Fangio and Behra. Although constructed on the platform of the Giulio Alfieri-designed 3500GT, and still powered by the same 350S-derived, fuel injected straight-six engine, the new model had a noticeably more contemporary look than its predecessor, courtesy of its attractive new coachwork by Vignale. In 1965, the evolutionary Series II variant was introduced, which featured a raft of cosmetic changes including revised head and taillights, modified bumpers and side vents, as well as offering a longer stroke 3.7-litre engine option and latterly even a 4.0-litre version. THIS MOTORCAR The Maserati Sebring 3700 GTi series II we are offering here is chassis AM101/10*015*. Being one of only 247 examples produced, this particular example is the only Sebring to have been delivered new in Giallo (Salchi 20×305) with black leather interior. The first owner of the car was a resident in Torino and later on it was sold to an enthusiast in Norway. The current owner of the car has made its acquisition in 2011 and decided to proceed with a full body restoration by Italian marque experts. At which point it was decided to put the car back to its original colour. This elegant Sebring is offered with copies of its original production sheet.
