Description

A remarkable low-mileage example of BMW’s celebrated Z1 roadster

Odometer reads just 1,697 kilometres

Finished in the popular combination of Top Red over Dark Grey

The BMW Z1 was unlike anything else on the market when it was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1987, and the same holds true today. A perennial hit with collectors for its clever retracting doors, the roadster has always been an enticing proposition. Fans and owners alike laud the Z1 for its combination of neat styling, intriguing thermoplastic panel construction, and proven reliability of the 2.5-litre straight-six and five-speed manual BMW 325i-derived running gear. With 170 horsepower on tap and a comparatively light kerb weight, the Z1 is a fantastically throwable sportscar that is capable of holding its own against pedigreed machines such as the Lotus Elan M100 and other contemporary rivals. The Z1 offered here was completed relatively late in the model’s production run, and was finished in the most popular combination of Top Red over a Dark Grey Nubuck interior with camouflage leather inserts. The BMW is notable for its incredibly low mileage; at the time of cataloguing the odometer read just 1,697 kilometres. This BMW Z1 owes its low mileage to an extended stay in Oman, from where it was purchased by the consignor in 2023 prior to being imported to Greece. With futuristic looks that bely its 1980s design, the Z1 only improves with time.
