One of 73 400 Trophy’s built by Venturi for the 1993 season, this particular example is chassis 0062, which was acquired new by American gentleman racer James Sheehan, and subsequently campaigned by him in the Venturi Trophy series in a bright yellow livery featuring an American flag covering the roof. However, 0062 would not race the full season as Mr. Sheehan defaulted on installment payments owed to Venturi for his car, seeing Venturi seize ownership of the car where it remained dormant until being acquired by the second owner, a French collector, who retained 0062 in his private collection for a significant period of time until 2010.
During his custodianship, 0062 participated minimally in track day events before changing hands twice more, the second time being its acquisition by The Ascott Collection in 2013, who sold it to the fifth owner in 2015 who displayed it at the fabled French automobile show, Retromobile. Since 2015, 0062 would change ownership twice more, where most recently it raced in the 2017 Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or, Europe’s oldest historic car meet at the Dijon-Prenois circuit, before being acquired by its current American owner and moving to the United States.
Today 0062 benefits greatly from its lack of on-track racing in most rounds of the Venturi Trophy series during 1993, and subsequent minimal track days, as it presents in highly preserved condition with its original bodywork, never having been crashed or wrecked - a truly rare feat for a 400 Trophy. 0062 is turn-key and waiting to effortlessly hound race tracks the world over, or participate in the highest caliber historic racing series.
