HISTORY The Aston Martin DB5 Convertible was produced over two years between 1963-65 and only 123 examples were constructed making it one of the most desirable open Aston Martin models This DB5C was delivered on 28th May 1964 to first owner Major James France of Dewsbury, Yorks, finished in Caribbean Pearl coachwork with White Gold hides and dark Blue hood The copy of the original build sheet supplied with the car denotes a host of original bespoke options; Hood cover in White gold VM 3323, full tonneau cover in dark blue everflex, chrome roadwheels, three ear hubcaps, 3.77P Lok rear axle, Motorola radio, detachable hardtop in Ford Express Blue, steering wheel spokes NOT to be painted and spark plug holders The period black and white images within the gallery were taken at Newport Pagnell c1968 and show some rather interesting non-standard additions to the car fitted in period by the first owner that included multiple spotlights, boot rack, tow bar, altimeter and various decorative accoutrements, clearly Major France wanted his DB5C to stand out from the crowd! In 1994/5 the DB5C was fully rebuilt by marque exponents R.S.Williams and subsequently sold by them in November 1995 to Mr Weimann of Hamburg, Germany where it remained until 2003 before it was repatriated to the UK and later sold via RSW in 2004 to Lord Harris Maintained by RSW for the past 25 years, we acquired the DB5C from them on behalf of one of our clients in 2020, shortly after it had repainted in the desirable hue of Sierra Blue This well presented DB5C drives as well as it looks and is ready for its next custodian to enjoy. Recently serviced by RSW and fitted with new wheels and tires, supplied with a well-documented history file, simply put this is the ultimate open Aston from the 1960s!
