Your mum won't like it - MG B V8 The MG B. A car that -not immediately- makes us very hot. Leaf springs at the rear with drums and an obese cast-iron four-cylinder, we will skip it for a while. Yet it was before the arrival of the MX5, the most built sports car in the world!! So we forced ourselves to look again; After all, there aren't that many Brexit aristocrats... After some further research, we understood it a little better; In '73 a Rover V8 was spooned into the B, which with its 135 polo horses was not necessarily fast, but it was already much better for the hearing! The 8-cylinder was also -bizarrely enough- 27 kilos lighter than the 4! These days, we (fortunately) can't get enough of Restomods. Equivalent to the child of Elvis Presley and Monica Geuze, best of both times. And that is exactly what the previous owner did with our MG B V8. How? Uncle John Eales has supplied a 5.0 liter, with dry sump so nice and fast warm and cozy. Something with custom cylinder heads, light flywheel and Cosworth sperdiff. End result? Phew, what a handsome baby!! 375 HP, atmospheric from the front, through the marrow and bone, to the rear. How raw and pure this is! Now looking for a new Steve McQueen. Will we see you soon?
